Trevi Fountain Art Print, ROME

€19.00

Art print from the Roma Series. Fontana di Trevi

The Roman custom of building a beautiful fountain at the end of the aqueducts that brought water to the city was revived in the 15th century, with the Renaissance. In 1629 Pope Urban VIII asked Gian Lorenzo Bernini to outline possible renovations, but the project was abandoned upon his death. The fountain is a sculptural work with a round shape and at the same time relief. There are two seahorses in the sculpture. This represents the two facets of the sea, the rough sea and the peaceful sea.
The central niche or exedra framing Neptune has freestanding columns for better light and shadows. In the niches flanking Neptune, Abundance pours water from her urn and Healthiness holds a cup from which a snake drinks.

Sheet printed on 320 gr paper. High Quality Embossing. Measurements 23 x 23 cm.

Recommended IKEA Hovsta frame 23x23 cm.
