Casa Batlló is a reflection of Gaudí's artistic maturity: it belongs to his naturalist period, a time when the architect perfected his personal style, drawing inspiration from the organic forms of nature. To achieve this, he implemented a whole series of new structural solutions stemming from his profound analyses of ruled geometry. The Catalan artist added to this a great deal of creative freedom and imaginative ornamental design: starting from a certain baroque influence, his works acquired a rich structure, with forms and volumes devoid of rationalist rigidity or any classical constraints.
