Palace of the Kings Sheet, OLITE
Art print from the Spain Series. Palace of the Kings, Olite
The Palace of the Kings of Navarre in Olite, also known as the Royal Palace of Olite or Olite Castle, is a courtly and military building constructed during the 13th and 14th centuries in the town of Olite. It served as one of the seats of the Court of the Kingdom of Navarre from the reign of Charles III "the Noble" onwards.
One of its main charms is the apparent disorder of its design. This is because its construction was never approached as a single, unified project; the final result is due to the continuous expansion and renovation work that took place over centuries.
In its time, it was considered one of the most beautiful palaces in Europe.
