Monumental gate located in the walls of Toledo. It is known by the title "New" because there is another door nearby called Puerta Antigua de Bisagra or Puerta de Alfonso VI.
It is made up of two independent bodies with two high crenellated walls that join them, forming a patio between them, where a statue of Charles V is located. The external side is formed by a semicircular arch with padded ashlars, on which is a large shield of the "Imperial City", with its unmistakable double-headed eagle, as well as a pediment with a sculpture of a guardian angel. Two large circular towers flank this entrance. The body that faces the city has another semicircular arch door, flanked by two square towers topped by pyramidal roofs.
