Empire State Art Print, NEW YORK
Art print from the New York Series. Empire State
The construction was part of a competition in New York for the title of the world's tallest building. It was officially opened on May 1, 1931. It rises to a height of 443 meters. Unlike most modern skyscrapers, the Empire State Building features an Art Deco design, typical of pre-World War II architecture in New York.
The Empire State Building is one of the world's most popular outdoor observatories. The 86th-floor observation deck offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city. The building's distinctive spire was originally designed to be a mooring and parking mast for blimps. The 102nd floor was originally designed as a landing platform for blimps. A dedicated elevator was intended for transporting passengers.
