It may probably correspond to the ancient foundation of San Pedro and San Pablo de Felgueras from the 7th century, its origin being Visigothic. The current structure was built in the 9th century, year 852, under the reign of Ramiro I, which is why it is classified as Ramirense like the Naranco monuments.
