The Hanging Houses, also known as Casas Voladas or Casas del Rey, are a group of civil buildings located in Cuenca. In the past, this architectural element was common on the eastern edge of the ancient city, located in front of the gorge of the Huécar River, although today only a small part of them survives. Of all, the best known are a set of three of these structures with wooden balconies.
Of uncertain origin, there is evidence of its existence as early as the 15th century.
They currently house the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art of Cuenca, owned by the Juan March Foundation.
