It is considered the true icon of the Sorian Romanesque thanks to its monumental and incomparable western façade, for many, the best of the Spanish Romanesque.
It was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931.
The Pantocrator is exceptional, which is one of only five examples in the world (all in Spain) of the iconography called trinidad paternitas. The Father has Christ sitting on him, instead of the Virgin.
