A monumental gate located in the walls of Toledo. It is known as the "New" Gate because there is another gate nearby called the Old Bisagra Gate or Alfonso VI Gate.
It consists of two separate sections joined by two high crenellated walls, forming a courtyard between them, where a statue of Charles V stands. The outer side features a semicircular arch with rusticated stonework, above which is a large coat of arms of the "Imperial City," with its distinctive double-headed eagle, as well as a pediment with a sculpture of a guardian angel. Two large circular towers flank this entrance. The section facing the city has another semicircular arched doorway, flanked by two square towers topped with pyramidal roofs.
