Art print from the Rome Series. Piazza Navona

The square stands on what was the Stadium of Domitian, built in 85 AD. It has an elongated shape, in accordance with the track of the Stadium of Domitian that occupied this space, maintaining its same dimensions and even the curve of the northern area, while the buildings that surround it stand on what were the stands of the old stadium.
The Fountain of the Four, located in the center, is from the Baroque period. Commissioned by the Pope and designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, its construction took place between 1648 and 1651. It represents the four great rivers of the known world at that time: the Nile, the Ganges, the Danube, and the Río de la Plata. The fountain is crowned by the obelisk of Domitian, which this emperor ordered to be built in Egypt.

Printed sheet on 320 gsm paper. High-quality embossing. Measures 23 x 23 cm.
