An important part of César Manrique's sculpture consists of mobiles, which he called Wind Toys. These are solid, heavy iron structures composed of spheres, circles, pyramids, and other elements. In the wind, they become ethereal, weightless, and establish a complex, opposing, rotating motion, intertwining with one another. Manrique undoubtedly associated their image with the windmills that were once very common in Lanzarote.
