The Royal Alcázar of Seville is a fortified palace comprised of sections built during different historical periods. Although the original palace was built in the High Middle Ages, some vestiges of Islamic art remain, as well as a Mudéjar palatial space and another in the Gothic style, dating from the period following the Castilian conquest. Later renovations added Renaissance, Mannerist, and Baroque elements.
