Jameos del Agua Print, LANZAROTE
Art print from the Spain Series. Jameos del Agua in Lanzarote
Like the Cueva de los Verdes, these caves are located inside the volcanic tunnel formed by the eruption of the Corona Volcano. They consist of at least three jameos, or openings in the ground: the "Jameo Chico," which provides access to the interior; the "Jameo Grande"; and a third, called the "Jameo de la Cazuela."
The Jameos del Agua is the first Art, Culture, and Tourism Center created by César Manrique, and it reflects one of his creative pillars: the harmony between nature and artistic creation. It is ecologically important, as it is home to a unique and endemic species of crab, the blind crab (Munidopsis polymorpha), which is barely a centimeter long, albino, and blind.
Printed sheet on 320 gsm paper. High-quality embossing. Measures 23 x 23 cm.
