This small, early 20th-century church marks the southern entrance to the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. Located right next to the beach, it was built to serve the workers of the nearby salt flats. Stylistically, it is characterized by historicist restraint and the eclecticism typical of early 20th-century Almería. The church was built on a platform to prevent water and sand from entering, an elevation that lends it a certain air of symbolic superiority.
