Ermita del Rocío Print, HUELVA
Art print. Sanctuary of Our Lady of El Rocío
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of El Rocío, undoubtedly one of the world's greatest epicenters of Marian devotion, is visited year-round by hundreds of thousands of the faithful. Surrounded by marshes and fervent devotion.
The current chapel, built in the regionalist style, was designed by architects Alberto Balbontín Orta and Antonio Delgado Roig. It has a Latin cross floor plan, three naves, a triforium, and the main chapel at the far end. The chapel was blessed on April 12, 1969, by the then Bishop of Huelva, Monsignor José García Lahiguera, and on Sunday the 13th, the Virgin of El Rocío entered her new church for the first time.
