Central Park Art Print, NEW YORK

Art print from the New York Series. Central Park

Between 1821 and 1855 the New York metropolitan area quadrupled its population. As the city had expanded, people had few open spaces to go to and mainly went to cemeteries to get away from the noisy and chaotic city life.
The most influential innovation in the design of Central Park was that there were separate paths for pedestrians, horse-drawn carriages, and other vehicles. Commercial traffic was completely hidden and redirected to sunken roadways, surrounded by dense bushes, so as not to alter the rustic impression of the park. The Greensward Plan contained the construction of approximately 36 bridges, all of them designed by Vaux, each one different from the other, using granite and mica schist as materials, with neo-Gothic style iron fittings.

Sheet printed on 320 gr paper. High Quality Embossing. Measurements 23 x 23 cm.

Recommended IKEA Hovsta frame 23x23 cm.
