The Sacré-Cœur Basilica of Montmartre is an important religious temple located in Paris. It is situated atop Montmartre hill.
The building's floor plan is more central than basilical. It is in the shape of a Greek cross, adorned with four domes: the central dome, 80 m high, is topped by a lantern, formed by a colonnade.
In the apse, an immense square tower serves as a bell tower, housing, among other treasures, the Savoyarde, a bell 3 meters in diameter and weighing 18,550 kilograms, donated by the Diocese of Chambéry. The crypt has the same layout as the church and is one of the basilica's unique features.
