Art print. Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs of Córdoba

After the Castilian conquest of the city, the site occupied by the old Andalusian fortress was divided among King Ferdinand III, the bishop, some nobles, and the Order of Calatrava. Its fortification was ordered by the Castilian king, Alfonso XI, on top of earlier structures.
The Catholic Monarchs, who resided in Córdoba for over eight years, directed their campaign against the Kingdom of Granada from the fortress. It was in these same quarters (the Keep) that Christopher Columbus requested funding for his maritime expedition in 1486, and where one of his children, the Infanta Maria, future Queen of Portugal, was born.

Printed sheet on 320 gsm paper. High-quality embossing. Measures 23 x 23 cm.
