Gran Vía is one of the main streets in Madrid. It begins on Alcalá Street and ends in Plaza de España. It is an important landmark in the city since its construction at the beginning of the 20th century seen from a commercial, tourist and leisure point of view. It is one of the largest urban interventions in Madrid at the time. With it, direct communication between the neighborhoods of Argüelles and Salamanca would be achieved; the decongestion of Puerta del Sol.
