Art print. Zamora Cathedral seen from El Duero

Cathedral dedicated to the Savior, is part of the so-called Romanesque of the Duero, distinguished for being the smallest and oldest of the eleven in the Community. It was declared a National Monument in 1889. Its plan is a Latin cross with three naves with four sections, the side ones with a groin vault and the central one with simple ribbed vaulting. The three apses that it originally had were replaced by a Gothic apse in the 16th century. In the transept there is a dome with a drum of 16 windows on which rises a dome of gadroons covered with stone scales and supported with pendentives of clear Byzantine influence.
