The Hanging Houses, also known as the Flying Houses or the King's Houses, are a group of civil buildings located in Cuenca. This architectural feature was once common on the eastern edge of the old city, facing the Huécar River gorge, although only a small portion remains today. The most famous of these buildings are a group of three structures with wooden balconies.
Of uncertain origin, its existence is documented as early as the 15th century.
They currently house the Spanish Museum of Abstract Art of Cuenca, of the Juan March Foundation.
